In a short story I read recently the author described a pair of caged magpies which sat in front of a home in the village in which he was living at the time. What struck him was the urgency with which the birds explored the cage, back and forth - top to bottom, in search of escape. He noted that, when one is able to understand (ideally accept) one's predicament it can of course be difficult, and daunting but that to think there is a possibility for escape when there truly is none is another kind of torture.
I've thought about those magpies more than once since reading about them. The edge between surrender and that particular type of torment- the anxiety and fear as one attempts to escape. Bondage games of course. Putting someone in a position in which punishment/ torture is inevitable but leaving them with a glimmer of hope.
This week I really enjoyed:
- Wearing my new custom leather corset out to a party. Delicate lace add the perfect soft edges and make the classic black leather really my own! Thanks P.
- Playing with a sub's custom leather straight jacket and discussing all of the custom components I will want on mine once I'm ready to order one. The sustainability of it being key, and catching up on some reading as he is left face down, hooded and legs hobbled at my feet.
- Going down to Swanton Berry Farm just past Pescadero and sampling their olalie berry cobbler (suspiciously similar to their strawberry shortcake only with olalie berries since strawberries are out of season). Stopping at the goat farm on the way back, checking out the goats and the cheese.
- Catching up with a few fabulous Femdoms for both relaxation and trouble-making purposes. Showing the issue of Whap! magazine (that a very good sub found and brought to me) to a "vanilla" friend of mine and having her finally see why I keep calling her a Domme.
- Reading a bit in my travel books about each city I'm going to visit on my upcoming tour!
